An integral, unique aspect of
The Council of State Governments' identity is our regional structure. Combined with our
national network, this dual strength makes CSG a dynamic player in the development of
effective state government. Our regional presence helps to assist states with multistate
and regional solutions. In addition, CSG staffs regional associations of legislators and
governors that advance collaborative geographic, political and economic interests.

States
as World Regions
To measure how the CSG regions compare to countries in such
categories as educational attainment, population and Gross National Product, the Council
has prepared a statistical portrait of the regions and select countries from Europe and
the Americas. We hope the comparisons are informative and thought-provoking. |
